Building Memory Gems โ€” an app to save moments before they fade ๐Ÿ’Ž

Software engineer since 1984. 41 years of .NET, now exploring AI-assisted development. I have ADHD, strong opinions about clean code, and a belief that the best software comes from understanding people, not just technology.

What I'm Building

๐Ÿ’Ž Memory Gems

Capture tiny moments before they fade.

In Development ยท Phase 3

The laugh at breakfast. The sunset you swore you'd remember. The feeling you want to keep.

  • Save a moment in seconds โ€” a sentence and a mood, done
  • The app resurfaces old gems randomly โ€” like memory actually working
  • No journaling commitment, no streaks, no guilt
  • Built for ADHD brains that forget the good stuff
  • AI-designed concept, human-engineered code

Background

41 years coding
7/7 competitions won
1984 first line of code
.NET primary stack

Born in Rio de Janeiro. Started coding at 14, debugging BASIC on paper before I could run it. Won 7 programming competitions in a row as a teenager. Four decades of enterprise software later, I'm a senior engineer at Ross Video in Ottawa, Canada.

Diagnosed with ADHD as an adult โ€” which explained a lot about the previous decades. Now I build with the chaos instead of against it.

Currently exploring what happens when a veteran engineer partners with AI โ€” not to replace the craft, but to amplify it. Memory Gems is the first result.
